Anton Vella

Anton Vella, an employee of Resource Support & Services Ltd, was assigned to the Malta Employers’ Association by MIMCOL in July 2013. He now serves as an SME Helpdesk Executive with the Malta Employers.

In his role, Mr Vella manages the daily operations of the SME Helpdesk and has been producing the Malta Employers’ TV programme since joining the Association. He also initiated and oversees the maintenance and updates of the Index online platform. As the primary coordinator of all the Association events, Mr Vella supports the secretariat with various administrative tasks.

In 1982, Mr. Vella obtained a University of Malta Diploma as a Draughtsman and Architect Assistant (A.A.& D.C.). He spent 6 years working as a draughtsman with Maltconsult International, where he gained experience both locally and abroad under the supervision of the renowned international construction firm, Daewoo International. Additionally, he collaborated with several local architects, on various projects of national significance.

For a period of time, Mr. Vella worked as project manager and project coordinator in the field of exhibitions and displays, where he gained extensive experience within the marketing industry. With a strong foundation in media and communications, he is skilled in conducting research, evaluating estimates and quotations, and overseeing infrastructural works.

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Vella successfully founded and directed his own company “Pyramid Productions & Services Ltd.” which he led for a decade. During this time, he secured numerous contracts as a Works Manager with various Local Councils. His responsibilities included supervising sub-contracted work, ensuring contractual obligations were met, and overseeing significant projects commissioned by the Councils.

Over a span of 10 years, Mr. Vella served in various government roles, including positions as Communications Coordinator, Private Secretary, Head of Secretariat, and Policy Coordinator across multiple government ministries.

During his time as a government consultant, Mr Vella was entrusted with several responsibilities related to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This included leading the Micro-Business Support Unit, within the Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Investment.
