Archived TV Programmes
Between October and December 2011, the MEA TV programme Ghaxar Minuti tackled 39 different subjects, and the Association benefitted from 390 minutes of television exposure (excluding an additional 780 minutes in repeat time). This programme was instrumental in projecting a positive image of employers to the general public and also an opportunity to increase awareness about important labour market and economic issues. In fact members of the pubic have approached the Association to express their satisfaction at the objective approach to the topics covered by the series.
We have also invited many commentators to participate in the programme, including unions, leading economists and experts. This has added to the credibility of the programme and of the Association.
All programme material, scripts, questions, selection of topics and speakers, filming times and locations has been coordinated inhouse by the MEA secretariat to keep production costs to a minimum, and to ensure that the programmes really reflect employers’ views on the issues tackled. Filming and production was done by Halo Ltd.

This type of media exposure to communicate employers’ views is unprecedented and the Association believes is necessary in order to extend the concept of social dialogue to the man in the street. This should work to make the average person more open to understand the employers’ viewpoint on aspects of the work environment that ultimately affects all of Maltese society.
